Season Recap:
The 2006 Minor A Pirates ended the season with a 15-2 record, and will not play the remaining 3 rainouts as summer schedules won't permit the makeup games.
The Pirates have a lot to be proud of as they swept all season series against all of their opponents, except the testy Dodgers who handed the Pirates their only two losses of the season.
We had some great come-from-behind victories that earned us the name Cardiac Kids of Tallmadge.
We came back time after time to win it in the bottom of the inning or at our last at bat. It was a true testament of the character, spirit, and will of this truly wonderful group of boys.
We had the best pitching corps in the league and everyone talked about it. We didn't rely on a couple of hard throwers. We sent in waves of pitchers
at other
teams.
We had a core of great 9 year olds, and a strengthening pool of 8 year olds that will be fun to watch as their baseball days continue in the years ahead.

Coach's Corner
We had a lot of fun and came together as a team winning many games on the backs of comrades up and down the lineup.
The boys played hard, enjoyed each other, made new friends, learned some lessons about life that I hope will make them better people, and made so much improvement as the season came along. |
